Water Tower Landscape Intern

WWF Tanzania is seeking a motivated Water Tower Landscape Intern to support conservation and sustainable landscape management initiatives within the Great Ruaha River Catchment under the Her Resilient Our Planet (HROP) project. This internship offers practical experience in environmental conservation, climate-smart agriculture, community engagement, and biodiversity restoration while working closely with local communities and project partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support community activities such as tree planting, tree nursery establishment, and watershed management.
• Assist in delivering training on agroforestry and sustainable land and water management practices.
• Support alternative livelihood initiatives, including beekeeping and aquaculture.
• Assist with village land-use planning activities.
• Support the development of community restoration and conservation action plans.
• Assist in establishing and supporting school environmental clubs.
• Support implementation of Natural Resource Management (NRM) strategies.
• Collaborate with communities, government authorities, and project partners to implement conservation activities.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Project Executant.

Requirements

• Graduate qualification in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Integrated Water Resources Management, or a related field.
• Experience working with rural communities or farmer groups is an advantage.
• Knowledge of environmental conservation, natural resource management, and climate-smart agriculture.
• Understanding of agroecology and agroforestry practices.
• Experience supporting community mobilization activities.
• Willingness to travel extensively to remote project locations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
