WASIMA (Watu, Simba na Mazingira / People, Lions & Environment) is a grassroots non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Western Tanzania. The organization promotes coexistence between humans and wildlife, provides livelihood opportunities for women and communities, and actively involves youth in environmental and wildlife conservation projects. WASIMA operates across three regions — Rukwa, Katavi, and Tabora — with programs focused on human-lion conflict mitigation, conservation awareness, alternative livelihoods, and habitat conservation.
