Arusha Trips, a travel agency specializing in tailor-made trips across Tanzania, is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage its day-to-day accounting activities.
The successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, handle bookkeeping and reconciliations, prepare financial reports, ensure compliance and provide management with reliable financial information to support decision-making.
Responsibilities

Maintain accurate books of accounts and ledgers.

Record daily income, expenses, payments and receipts.

Ensure accounting entries are complete, accurate and properly documented.

Track customer receipts and supplier payments.
-
Reconcile invoices, payments and supplier/customer statements.

Follow up on outstanding receivables.
-
Manage payment schedules.
-
Perform bank and cash reconciliations.
-
Ensure proper cash handling and supporting documentation.
-
Prepare weekly and monthly cash and bank reconciliations.
-
Prepare monthly trial balances and profit and loss reports.
-
Provide supporting information for balance-sheet preparation.
-
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Prepare financial information and reports for management.
-
Ensure applicable Tanzanian statutory compliance requirements are met.

Maintain organized financial records for audit purposes.

Support internal and external audit processes.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of proven experience as an Accountant.

Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or Tally-related certification.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping standards.

Experience with reconciliations, invoicing and financial reporting.

Experience using QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
