We are seeking for an Assistant Property & Facilities Manager to support the management and maintenance of company properties in Dar es Salaam.
This is a hands-on, operational and field-based role focused on keeping buildings, equipment, and facilities in good working condition. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance activities, supervise contractors and maintenance staff, conduct property inspections, monitor essential services, and help ensure tenants receive timely and professional support.
Responsibilities

Assist in planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Conduct routine inspections of company buildings and prepare inspection reports.

Monitor maintenance requests and ensure work orders are completed on time.

Supervise maintenance technicians, building managers, and external contractors.

Obtain quotations for routine maintenance and minor works.

Inspect completed maintenance and repair work for quality before recommending payment.

Monitor cleaning, security, landscaping, pest-control, and waste-management services.

Monitor utilities, including electricity and water consumption.

Respond to emergency maintenance issues outside normal working hours when required.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset registers, and equipment service histories.

Ensure facilities comply with applicable health, safety, and fire-protection requirements.

Support preparation of annual maintenance budgets.

Assist with capital replacement planning.

Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance-performance reports.

Analyze maintenance costs and identify opportunities to reduce operating expenses without compromising service quality.

Perform other duties assigned by the Property & Facilities Manager.
Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Property Management, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or property operations.

Experience supervising contractors and maintenance personnel is preferred.

Good understanding of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, lifts, and water systems.

Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Good organizational and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Experience using maintenance-management software is an added advantage.

Ability to prepare reports and analyze maintenance costs.

Good written and spoken English.

Knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage.
