We are seeking a qualified Independent Non-Executive Director to join the Board of CRDB Bank Foundation.
The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and/or audit expertise and provide independent oversight, strategic guidance, and financial stewardship to support the Foundation's work in entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, youth empowerment, women's economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent strategic guidance and oversight to the Foundation.
- Participate in the review, approval, and monitoring of strategies, policies, and budgets.
- Strengthen financial stewardship, governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Monitor the performance and impact of the Foundation's programmes.
- Participate actively in Board and Committee meetings.
- Provide independent judgment and constructive challenge to management.
- Support stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation initiatives.
- Guide long-term strategy, programme growth, and funding diversification.
- Promote strong governance, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Commerce, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field, preferably specialising in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing.
- Professional qualification such as CPA(T), ACCA, CIMA, CIA, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of senior-level experience in finance, accounting, auditing, banking, governance, risk management, development finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and NGO governance.
- Good understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and Tanzanian regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in risk management, internal controls, and compliance.
- Experience working with foundations, NGOs, financial institutions, development finance, or social investment is highly desirable.
- Strong strategic thinking, sound judgment, and independent decision-making ability.
- Experience engaging government institutions, development partners, private-sector organisations, and international organisations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Commitment to sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development, including youth and women's economic empowerment.
