We are seeking a Security Officer to join Dangote Cement Plc at the Mtwara Plant in Tanzania. The role is responsible for protecting employees, visitors, company property, and facilities by enforcing security procedures, controlling access, monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and responding to security incidents and emergencies. The position requires substantial industrial security experience and the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to prevent and detect intrusion, vandalism, theft, and other security threats.

Conduct security checks on personnel, vehicles, packages, and materials entering or leaving the premises.

Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, alarms, and other security equipment for potential threats or breaches.

Enforce company security policies, procedures, and access-control requirements.

Control and monitor access to restricted and secured areas.

Assist employees and visitors with security-related inquiries and concerns.

Ensure exits, doors, windows, and other access points are properly secured after operations.

Identify and investigate suspicious behaviour, activities, or possessions.

Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, security incidents, and emergencies.

Take appropriate action to contain and resolve security situations while following established procedures.

Apprehend and detain suspected perpetrators in accordance with applicable legal protocols until the relevant authorities arrive.

Report theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, security breaches, and other incidents.

Prepare and maintain accurate security incident reports and records.

Support implementation of physical-security and security-risk-management measures.

Maintain awareness of security risks affecting industrial and cement-manufacturing operations.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, employees, security personnel, and relevant authorities.

Perform other security-related duties assigned by the Supervisor or Head of Department.
Requirements

Diploma or higher qualification.

Proven professional security training from the military, police, prison service, militia, or a recognized private security training provider.

Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial security.

Strong knowledge of security systems and security operations.

Good understanding of law-enforcement practices and procedures.

Sound knowledge of physical security and security risk-management approaches.

Basic understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislation relevant to the cement manufacturing industry.
