Waiter/Waitress

Farm of Dreams Lodge is seeking a professional and customer-focused Waiter/Waitress to join its food and beverage team in Karatu, Arusha.

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests, preparing tables, presenting menus, taking orders, serving food and beverages and processing payments. The role requires excellent customer service, professional presentation and adherence to health, hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set tables with linens, silverware, glasses and other required items.
• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
• Present menus and explain available food and beverage options.
• Provide guests with information about ingredients, portion sizes and potential allergens.
• Inform guests about daily specials and available promotions.
• Recommend appropriate menu items when requested.
• Upsell additional food and beverage products where appropriate.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Communicate orders clearly to kitchen and bar staff.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered on time.
• Serve food and beverages professionally.
• Ensure applicable age requirements are followed when serving alcoholic beverages.
• Clear used plates, glasses and cutlery from tables.
• Present bills and collect customer payments.
• Operate cash registers and ordering systems where required.
• Maintain a clean, neat and professional personal appearance.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
• Follow applicable food hygiene, health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Hotel Management.
• Bar and barista skills.
• Hands-on experience using cash registers and ordering systems.
• Good customer-service skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with guests.
• Attentive, patient and service-oriented.
• High level of personal hygiene.
• Excellent personal presentation.
• Ability to work effectively with kitchen, bar and other service staff.
• Ability to work in a busy hospitality environment.
• Age requirement: 27–40 years.
