Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is looking to hire an Engineering Storekeeper to manage, control, store, issue and track all engineering spare parts, tools, consumables, equipment and maintenance materials, and to support the Engineering team with general maintenance when required. Only Tanzanian citizens will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Engineering Store in a clean, organized, secure, and safe condition.
- Receive, inspect, and verify engineering materials, spare parts, tools, consumables, and equipment against purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, and specifications.
- Label, code, store, and rotate inventory items according to established procedures.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests.
- Issue engineering materials and tools against approved requisitions and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Monitor consumption trends and prepare monthly inventory and usage reports.
- Conduct inventory counts and reconcile variances.
- Maintain records of engineering assets, tools, and equipment issued to employees and contractors.
- Maintain documentation and filing for purchase orders, delivery notes, supplier records, warranties, and inventory reports.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and recommend corrective action.
- Maintain perpetual inventory records in the approved inventory management system.
- Support procurement by preparing material requisitions and obtaining quotations.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement and delivery of engineering materials and spare parts.
- Assist with engineering inventory cost monitoring and cost-control initiatives.
- Investigate discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and delivered goods and communicate findings to Finance.
- Assist with internal and external inventory and engineering asset audits.
- Maintain maintenance logs and records of completed work.
- Assist with energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
- Comply with health and safety policies and engineering safety procedures.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and issuance of hazardous materials, chemicals, and maintenance supplies.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and equipment defects immediately.
- Participate in safety training, emergency drills, compliance programs, asset verification exercises, meetings, and departmental training.
Requirements
- High School Certificate required; a Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Stores Management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in engineering storekeeping, inventory management, purchasing, hospitality, construction, manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong inventory control and stock management skills.
- Working knowledge of engineering spare parts, tools and maintenance materials.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Good numerical, analytical, organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Good written and spoken English, including email communication.
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely; only Tanzanian citizens will be considered.
