We are looking for 2 experienced, safety-conscious, and reliable Fuel Tanker & Fleet Drivers to transport petroleum products and operate company utility vehicles.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe transportation, loading, and delivery of fuel while following road safety and petroleum handling procedures. The role also requires daily vehicle inspections, accurate trip records, and basic mechanical knowledge to identify and handle minor vehicle issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate fuel tankers and light utility vehicles to transport petroleum products to gas stations, clients, and other designated locations.
- Follow correct fuel loading and offloading procedures to prevent contamination, spills, and product loss.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Check fluid levels, tire pressure, safety equipment, and the general condition of assigned vehicles.
- Identify minor mechanical faults and report servicing or repair needs to the Fleet Manager.
- Perform basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor repairs where appropriate.
- Follow traffic laws, company transport policies, petroleum safety procedures, and emergency response guidelines.
- Maintain accurate driver logbooks, delivery notes, fuel receipts, and trip reports.
- Maintain professional conduct, integrity, and good customer service when representing the company.
Requirements
- Valid driving license with the appropriate categories for heavy commercial vehicles/fuel tankers and light motor vehicles.
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience operating fuel tankers.
- Basic auto-mechanic knowledge and ability to identify and troubleshoot minor vehicle faults.
- Maximum age of 47 years.
- Ability to read and write in Swahili and/or English.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or serious safety incidents.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
- Must provide at least four (4) verifiable guarantors, including an official introduction letter from the Local Government (Serikali ya Mtaa).
- Must be willing to undergo background checks, document verification, interviews, and practical driving assessments.
