We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated Finance Officer to join Jabal Trading Company Limited (Jabal Cargo) in Dar es Salaam.
The successful candidate will support the company's day-to-day financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, monitoring receivables and payables, preparing reconciliations and financial reports, and supporting statutory and regulatory compliance.
The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work effectively with different departments across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
- Record daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, invoices, and expenses.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and supporting financial documents.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments and prepare receivables reports.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor company banking transactions.
- Support cash-flow monitoring and financial planning.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
- Verify supporting documentation before processing payments and expenses.
- Monitor company expenditure and ensure expenses are properly authorized.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Assist with payroll preparation and verification when required.
- Support timely preparation and submission of statutory financial requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Tanzanian tax and statutory obligations.
- Work with Operations, Procurement, HR, and Management on finance-related matters.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain organized and complete financial records.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance), or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of Tanzanian tax and statutory compliance requirements, including TRA-related obligations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage.
- CPA(T), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.
- Experience in logistics, clearing and forwarding, transport, shipping, or trading is an added advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Tanzanian citizenship is preferred.
