We are seeking for a qualified and experienced Automobile Electrician to join its team in Mwanza.
The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on trucks, excavators, heavy equipment, and power generators. The role involves troubleshooting electrical faults, installing and testing components, carrying out preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work meets required safety and manufacturer standards.
Responsibilities

Follow electrical safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment before starting electrical work.

Diagnose electrical faults in trucks, excavators, and power generator systems.

Troubleshoot starting, charging, lighting, sensor, and control-system problems.

Test batteries, alternators, starters, relays, fuses, circuit breakers, sensors, and wiring harnesses.

Repair or replace faulty wiring, connectors, terminals, and electrical components.

Install and replace starters, alternators, batteries, lighting systems, generator control systems, protection devices, wiring harnesses, and control-panel wiring.

Perform routine electrical preventive maintenance and inspections.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

Ensure correct wiring colour, polarity, pin alignment, and secure harness routing.

Maintain service reports and maintenance logs.
-
Use appropriate tools and follow safe handling procedures for electrical components.

Test and quality-check repairs before equipment is released.
Requirements

Trade qualification, Diploma, or Certification in Automobile Electrical Systems, Heavy Equipment Electrical Systems, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Practical experience working with electrical systems on heavy vehicles, trucks, excavators, and power generators.

Knowledge of 12V/24V DC electrical systems.

Knowledge of relays, sensors, switches, generator controls, and protection components.

Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter, continuity tester, test light, and battery/alternator testing tools.

Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Good understanding of electrical safety and preventive maintenance procedures.
