Lagardere Travel Retail is seeking an IT Support professional in Dar es Salaam to provide technical support to employees and maintain the company’s IT equipment and systems.

Reporting to the IT Director, the successful candidate will install and update computers and other user devices, troubleshoot technical problems, support users and maintain accurate records of the company’s IT assets.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to users and resolve IT problems.
Support office employees and visitors with technical issues.
Install and configure desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices and printers.
Install and support standard company software.
Troubleshoot first-level network and connectivity problems.
Monitor network issues and report them to the relevant central IT teams.
Support IT security systems, including firewalls, antivirus software and authentication systems.
Assist with intrusion detection, log management and content-filtering solutions.
Maintain accurate records of company IT equipment and assets.
Follow technical support cases through to resolution.
Work effectively under deadlines and normal professional pressure.
Organize IT awareness and training activities for employees.
Conduct individual and group IT training sessions and workshops.
Work closely with virtual and multicultural IT teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in IT services, end-user support and/or information security.
Strong technical knowledge of computer networking.
First-level network troubleshooting skills.
Good understanding of IT asset management.
Practical understanding of IT security systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Fluency in English and French.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Responsive and proactive approach to technical issues.
Resourceful and self-motivated.
Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and virtual team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer and business-oriented mindset.
Ability to maintain professional and collaborative working relationships.
