About the Role
The Mechanical Technician will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment by performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The role focuses on improving equipment performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, supporting asset care initiatives, and contributing to operational excellence through the Manufacturing Management System (MMS). Working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams, the successful candidate will help achieve targets related to safety, quality, production efficiency, cost optimization, and asset reliability.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and planned maintenance activities.
Support the safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment.
Ensure compliance with maintenance regulatory standards.
Identify plant performance issues and contribute to improvement plans.
Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
Support implementation of the Manufacturing Management System (MMS) Asset Care Strategy.
Collaborate with Asset Care Leaders, Asset Care Technicians, Equipment Owners, and Operators to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance.
Maintain SAP data integrity for Plant structures, Equipment structures, Maintenance plans, Task lists, and Work orders.
Ensure compliance with Diageo Work Planning and Scheduling Standards.
Conduct technical assessments of maintenance work requests.
Ensure maintenance activities are adequately planned before scheduling.
Participate in weekly integrated maintenance planning meetings.
Monitor scheduled maintenance activities.
Prioritize and reschedule incomplete work where necessary.
Participate in daily operational review meetings.
Report asset care performance.
Recommend corrective actions to improve maintenance compliance and equipment performance.
Continuously optimize the use of Labour, Time, Materials, and Maintenance resources.
Analyze spare parts inventory requirements.
Improve inventory control processes.
Support procurement of Spare parts, Maintenance materials, and Outsourced maintenance services.
Coordinate with Facilities Management regarding procurement requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support implementation of maintenance best practices.
Promote efficient maintenance planning through job knitting techniques.
Improve maintenance performance using system-generated data.
Promote teamwork and high morale.
Recognize strong performance.
Address underperformance promptly.
Participate in behavioral safety conversations.
Mentor and support colleagues where appropriate.
Maintain a personal development plan.
Complete P4G performance documentation.
Learn from feedback and continuously improve professional skills.
Expand technical capability to benefit both the individual and the organization.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanical maintenance, Manufacturing operations, Process control, Performance measurement
