We are seeking for a qualified Research Assistants to support participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and research coordination for the KUPAA Study. The successful candidates will work closely with clinicians, psychiatry clinic staff, patients, and caregivers to ensure ethical, accurate, and participant-centered research activities while maintaining strict compliance with research protocols and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Recruit and screen study participants based on eligibility criteria.

Conduct informed consent procedures in accordance with study protocols.

Administer surveys and conduct in-depth interviews with patients and caregivers.

Maintain confidentiality and protect participant information.

Coordinate participant assessments with clinical staff.

Prepare and maintain research documentation, consent forms, CRFs, study registers, and regulatory files.

Assist with qualitative coding, codebook development, and data analysis.

Ensure compliance with research ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and study protocols.

Participate in study meetings, training sessions, and progress reporting.

Support study management, scheduling, protocol adherence, and IRB documentation.

Perform other research-related duties assigned by the study team.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Demography, or another relevant field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience.

Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection.

Experience with health-related research projects is preferred.

Knowledge of REDCap software is an added advantage.

Experience with transcription and translation (English and Swahili).

Working knowledge of research ethics, Human Subjects Protection, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Excellent communication and active listening skills.

Ability to work with patients experiencing mental health conditions.

Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet applications.

Fluency in English and Swahili.
