Job Description

National Insurance Corporation (NIC) is seeking two Accounts Officers II under its volunteer programme in Dar es Salaam.

The programme provides young Tanzanian graduates with practical skills and workplace experience within the insurance and corporate environment. The successful candidates will support NIC's accounting operations, including transaction posting, reconciliations, payment processing, financial reporting, record management and audit support.

The engagement period will not exceed 12 months and may be renewed by NIC for a maximum of two additional periods.

Responsibilities

Prepare and post accounting entries into the financial management system.
Reconcile bank accounts, premium receipts and supplier ledgers.
Prepare payment vouchers.
Process supplier and claim payments.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports.
Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in good order.
Support internal audit exercises by preparing required schedules and documentation.
Support external audit exercises by providing required schedules and records.
Bachelor's Degree in an eligible accounting/finance field OR NBAA Intermediate Certificate (Module D)
Tanzanian Citizen
Age 18–35
Never employed by a Public Institution since graduation
No criminal record
No disciplinary misconduct

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration with a major in Accounting or Finance.
Alternatively, an Intermediate Certificate (Module D) offered by NBAA.
Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
Must never have been employed by any Public Institution since graduation.
Must have no criminal record.
Must have no record of disciplinary misconduct.
