About the Role
DSM Corridor Group Ltd is looking to recruit Madereva wa Malori (Truck Drivers) in its Technical Department. Successful applicants will be responsible for driving large and small trucks while observing company procedures and safety standards, transporting containers and cargo.
Responsibilities
Safely transport containers and cargo between DCG company areas, the port, and customer locations in accordance with schedules and routes planned by the company.
Conduct vehicle inspection before and after trips to ensure vehicle quality, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
Ensure cargo and transport documents are complete, accurate, and comply with the relevant procedures.
Load and offload cargo in cooperation with warehouse and port teams while ensuring cargo is protected against damage or loss.
Ensure cargo is delivered on time and communicate with the transport unit or supervisor if delays, accidents, or route changes occur.
Monitor fuel usage and provide mileage, fuel consumption, and defect reports to the supervisor.
Submit proof of delivery of cargo (POD) together with relevant documents immediately after the trip is completed.
Fully comply with road traffic laws, company safety policies, and driving ethics at all times.
Report faults or technical problems to the maintenance unit immediately.
Participate in vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure preventive services are carried out on time.
Keep trip records, delivery reports, and accurate working time reports.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, including operating other equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, and Bobcat when required.
Requirements
Valid Tanzanian driving licence - Class E and C
3-5 years of experience driving large trucks or container-carrying vehicles in the transport or cargo sector
Understanding of port operations and customs procedures
Defensive driving or road safety training (added advantage)
Discipline, responsibility, and good timekeeping ability
Driving certificate from a recognized institution
Education of at least Form Four
National Identification Card (NIDA) or NIDA number
Readiness to work night shifts
Honest, self-managed, and personally responsible
Ability to operate equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, and Bobcat (advantage)
Knowledge of maintenance of large vehicles or heavy equipment (advantage)
