The BIT Officer will support Unifi Tanzania’s day-to-day technology infrastructure and office facilities, ensuring branches and offices have reliable IT equipment, connectivity, systems access and well-maintained working environments. Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Lead, the role combines hands-on IT support, equipment and asset management, basic network administration, user support and facilities coordination.
Responsibilities

Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, systems and connectivity issues.

Troubleshoot day-to-day technical problems and escalate complex issues when necessary.

Manage and follow up on IT support tickets to ensure timely resolution.

Provide basic systems guidance and training to employees.

Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including preparing, configuring and recovering IT equipment and system access.

Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers and other office IT equipment.

Keep devices secure and up to date with approved software, security patches and system updates.

Support basic network, Wi-Fi and user-access administration.

Assist with hardware repairs, replacements, upgrades and warranty processes.

Maintain accurate IT asset records and equipment assignments.

Coordinate routine office facilities maintenance and respond to facilities-related requests.

Liaise with landlords, contractors and other service providers regarding office maintenance and repairs.

Coordinate approved facilities purchases and monitor external service providers.

Escalate significant facilities, infrastructure, health or safety issues when required.

Maintain documentation covering IT assets, licences, service providers and support activities.

Keep technical documentation and user guides accurate and up to date.

Identify recurring technical or operational issues and recommend practical improvements.

Travel between branches when required to provide IT and infrastructure support.
Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

2–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk or technical support.

Experience supporting Windows computers and other office IT equipment.

Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

Ability to troubleshoot printers, hardware and common software issues.

Ability to troubleshoot basic network, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems.

Familiarity with IT asset management.

Understanding of user-access administration and information-security best practices.

Experience with helpdesk or ticketing systems is an advantage.

Experience with remote support tools such as Datto, N-able or similar platforms is an advantage.

Experience coordinating facilities or working with external service providers is an advantage.
