Senior Accountant

AKO Group Limited is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the company's financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial management activities in Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing key accounting processes, preparing management and statutory reports, supporting audits, and analyzing financial information to support informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and completely.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Review financial records and ensure the accuracy of accounting entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax obligations, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits and provide required financial records and documentation.
• Maintain accurate financial information within the company's ERP system.
• Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas requiring management attention.
• Provide financial insights and information to support business decision-making.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (T) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting principles.
• Experience managing general ledger activities.
• Understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and tax compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
