AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a General Investigator to investigate security-related crimes and incidents, mitigate security risks, conduct security audits, manage evidence and cases, and supervise investigation operations at Geita Gold Mine.
Responsibilities
- Investigate security-related crimes and incidents, including misconduct, theft, fraud, and gold-related cases.
- Prepare investigation dockets and charge sheets, maintain the case register, and ensure third-party incidents are properly documented.
- Represent and manage material evidence and witnesses in disciplinary hearings, labour matters, and criminal cases before relevant courts.
- Liaise with the Police, Government Officials, and internal stakeholders on investigation matters.
- Attend after-hours investigations and provide timely and accurate incident updates.
- Conduct risk assessments and support security audits.
- Maintain compliance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, company procedures, legal requirements, and assurance standards.
- Enforce corrective actions to prevent human rights violations.
- Develop and maintain informer networks.
- Support financial investigations in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- Supervise and manage team members to ensure effective investigation operations.
Requirements
- Advanced secondary education (A-Level) or above
- Certificate in security investigation and other investigation training and courses
- Security or military training
- Minimum of 4 years' experience conducting security investigations in the mining or extractive sector
- Clean criminal record
- Knowledge of commonly used investigation principles and techniques
- Knowledge of current investigation techniques, methodologies, and root cause analysis frameworks
- Ability to prepare concise and analytical investigation reports
- Awareness of AngloGold Ashanti, CARO, and GGML Security Management Frameworks
- Ability to use SEMS, AuRisk, and other business systems
- Good computer and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Ability to supervise subordinates and resolve workplace-related conflicts
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
