The Bagamoyo African Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is seeking qualified Chinese Language Tutors to teach Chinese language programmes at Certificate and Diploma levels (NTA Level 4–6). The successful candidates will deliver high-quality instruction, prepare teaching materials, supervise student projects, and contribute to research, consultancy, and community engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities

Teach Chinese language courses at Certificate and Diploma (NTA Level 4–6).

Prepare lesson plans, tutorials, and teaching materials.

Deliver engaging classroom instruction and assess student performance.

Conduct research, seminars, and academic case studies.

Supervise student projects and academic activities.

Participate in consultancy and community service initiatives.

Develop teaching manuals and instructional resources.

Perform other academic duties assigned by the department.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chinese Language, Chinese Studies, Linguistics, Education (Chinese Language), Translation and Interpretation (Chinese), or a related field.

Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience in Chinese language instruction or a relevant postgraduate qualification.

Strong classroom management and curriculum delivery skills.

Ability to teach Certificate and Diploma level students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
