We are seeking a Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function at FINCA Microfinance Bank Tanzania and drive the strategic and operational execution of the organization’s HR vision. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role serves as a strategic partner, change agent, and employee advocate, ensuring talent, performance, organizational culture, and HR operations align with Tanzanian regulatory requirements and FINCA Impact Finance standards.
Responsibilities

Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives.

Advise the CEO and executive leadership on strategic HR and people matters.

Lead talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational design.

Oversee employee performance evaluation cycles and performance improvement processes.

Design and manage variable pay, merit increases, and employee bonus programmes.

Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and employment regulations.

Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and job descriptions.

Oversee payroll compliance and support HR-related audits and regulatory reporting.

Lead employee retention, learning, development, and capacity-building programmes.

Establish and oversee effective employee conflict-resolution mechanisms.

Strengthen employee relations, workplace communication, and organizational culture.

Maintain accurate employee information and records within HRIS systems.

Provide HR analytics and reports to the Management Board, Board of Directors, and Global HR Office.

Drive organizational change and continuous improvement across the HR function.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field.

Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA.

Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR experience.

At least 5 years of managerial or leadership experience.

In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and employment regulations.

Strong experience in compensation, benefits, payroll, and labour relations.

Experience with HRIS platforms and systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
