We are seeking for a detail-oriented and mission-driven Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to lead the design, implementation and strengthening of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) systems across the organization’s programmes.
The role will ensure that programme data is collected accurately, analyzed effectively and transformed into actionable insights that improve programme quality, demonstrate impact to donors and partners, and support organizational decision-making across GFI’s three programme pillars: Her Education, Her Health, and Her Economy.
Responsibilities

Design and maintain GFI’s Monitoring and Evaluation framework, including indicators, tools and data collection systems aligned with the organization’s Theory of Change.

Lead data collection, verification and management activities across all programme pillars.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency and quality across different regions of operation.

Develop and maintain databases and dashboards for tracking beneficiary reach, outcomes and programme indicators.

Train field teams and community volunteers on M&E tools, data collection procedures and reporting protocols.

Conduct regular data quality assessments, field verification visits and spot checks across programme regions.

Analyze programme data and prepare reports, impact briefs, success stories and evidence-based insights for donors, partners and internal teams.

Coordinate baseline, midline and endline assessments, surveys and evaluations linked to programmes and grants.

Support proposal development and donor reporting by providing programme evidence, performance data and analysis.

Facilitate learning reviews with programme teams to translate findings into programme improvements.

Ensure ethical data management practices, including informed consent and protection of sensitive information involving adolescent girls.

Maintain documentation systems for case studies, testimonials and qualitative evidence of programme impact.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant Monitoring and Evaluation experience.

Experience working with NGOs, preferably in gender, education, health or youth economic empowerment programmes.

Experience designing M&E frameworks, logframes or Theory of Change-based indicator systems.

Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Excel, KoboToolbox, ODK or similar platforms.

Strong report-writing skills and ability to convert data into clear narratives for different audiences.

Experience conducting field visits and working with community-level teams and beneficiaries.

Fluency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English.

Willingness to travel regularly to programme regions across Tanzania.
