Sales and Marketing Manager / Acting General Manager

We are seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager / Acting General Manager to join the Institute of Environment, Climate and Development Sustainability (IECDS) in Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidate will lead the institution's sales, marketing, student recruitment, business development, branding, and partnership activities while also serving as Acting General Manager.

The role will focus on increasing student enrolment, promoting academic and professional programmes, generating new business opportunities, growing institutional revenue, and coordinating day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales, marketing, and student recruitment strategies.
• Drive student enrolment and contribute to institutional revenue and growth targets.
• Promote IECDS academic programmes, professional training, consultancy, and research services.
• Plan and manage digital marketing, branding, outreach, exhibitions, and promotional campaigns.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, companies, government institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and develop new business and revenue-generating opportunities.
• Monitor sales, enrolment, marketing, and institutional growth performance.
• Oversee day-to-day institutional operations while serving as Acting General Manager.
• Supervise relevant staff and coordinate activities across the institution.
• Support implementation of institutional plans and business objectives.
• Prepare management, sales, marketing, and performance reports.
• Provide leadership in achieving the institution's growth and operational targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Education Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience marketing an educational institution.
• Strong experience in student recruitment and enrolment growth.
• Proven experience promoting academic programmes.
• Experience promoting professional training programmes.
• Strong understanding of sales and marketing strategy.
• Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Ability to build and manage institutional partnerships.
• Strong leadership and staff-management capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate day-to-day organizational operations.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
