HSSE Officer

We are seeking an HSSE Officer to support health, safety, security, and environmental management across Masika Ventures – Third Man Limited (Upendo Honey) operations in Kigoma. The role focuses on identifying workplace hazards, investigating incidents, conducting inspections and risk assessments, monitoring HSSE performance, and working with operational teams to maintain a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Identify, record, and follow up on hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
• Lead or support incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Conduct HSSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments across facilities and field operations.
• Identify and address health, safety, security, and environmental risks with operational teams.
• Promote safe working practices and encourage open reporting of safety concerns.
• Support supervisors and managers in integrating HSSE requirements into daily operations.
• Track and analyse HSSE indicators, including incidents, near misses, training coverage, and inspection findings.
• Prepare HSSE reports, trends, and recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proactive and hands-on approach.
• Ability to work independently and learn through practical experience.
