Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) is recruiting one ICT Officer II (Database Administration) to design, administer, secure and maintain the corporation's databases and supporting system infrastructure, ensuring high availability of its systems and services.
Responsibilities
- Design database structures and objects including tables, views, procedures, functions and triggers
- Perform database performance optimization and tuning
- Administer systems and databases, server virtualization and server infrastructure
- Manage security aspects of assigned systems and databases, including integrity control and related records and documents
- Install, upgrade and maintain software applications and databases
- Maintain, administer and monitor production databases, including problem management
- Undertake daily maintenance, testing, backup and recovery of systems and databases
- Apply patches and upgrades to systems and databases
- Install, configure, operate, upgrade and maintain assigned system hardware, software and infrastructure
- Provide appropriate infrastructure technology solutions to support operations
- Assist in the management of hardware devices, licensing and all programs as assigned
- Produce database reports when requested
- Ensure high availability of systems and services
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree from a recognized institution in an ICT-related field
- Accepted fields include Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information and Communication Technology and Information Systems
- Also accepted: Information System and Network Engineering, Network Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information and Communication Systems Management, Cyber Security, or equivalent qualifications
