Official job description

We are seeking two Assistant Printers II – Graphic Designing to join the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on preparing artwork and digital files for printing, supporting prepress and CTP operations, processing files through specialized workflow software, operating digital printing equipment, and maintaining prepress equipment.

Responsibilities

Prepare client-submitted artwork and files for printing.
Inspect and prepare digital artwork to ensure it is ready for the printing process.
Support the operation of Computer-to-Plate (CTP) equipment during plate processing.
Process printing files using Trueflow, Prinergy, Rampage, or related workflow systems.
Operate RISO photo printers for smaller-quantity printing jobs.
Scan physical documents and convert them into digital files.
Import scanned and digital files into specialized prepress and printing software.
Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of prepress equipment.
Support general prepress and graphic-design activities as required.
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Graphic Designing or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; or
Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Graphic Designing or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Practical knowledge of graphic design and print-production processes.
Ability to prepare artwork and digital files for printing.
Knowledge of prepress equipment and processes.
Ability to support CTP plate-processing operations.
Familiarity with printing workflow software such as Trueflow, Prinergy, or Rampage.
Ability to operate RISO photo printers or similar digital printing equipment.
Ability to scan, digitize, and prepare documents using specialized software.
Ability to maintain prepress equipment in clean and proper working condition.
