Assistant Accountant

Victoria Finance PLC, a regulated microfinance company licensed by the Bank of Tanzania and serving low- and middle-income earners, women and youth across Tanzania since 2010, is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Assistant Accountant. The successful candidate will report to the Accountant and support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company, reporting to the Accountant
• Handle tax filing and compliance using the TRA IDRAS (Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System)
• Prepare and maintain accounting records and financial workings using MS Excel and other MS Office applications
• Work independently and with the finance team to meet accounting and reporting deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or an equivalent qualification
• Qualified Accountant or candidate pursuing a professional qualification; CPA (T) or ACCA is an added advantage
• At least three (3) years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a financial institution
• Competent in the use of TRA IDRAS for tax filing and compliance
• Practical experience with MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Strong computer and numerical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
