BMG Brothers Investment Ltd is seeking a Transport Officer to manage fleet operations, transportation activities, vehicles, and heavy machinery while supervising operators and ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective use of transport resources.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient operations.
- Supervise drivers and heavy equipment operators to ensure discipline, safety, and performance.
- Manage fleet and machinery records, including registration, insurance, servicing, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor fuel consumption and operational costs, and recommend cost-control measures.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company transport policies.
- Coordinate servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.
- Hire and engage heavy machinery as required for company projects and operations.
- Monitor equipment utilisation and availability to ensure optimal use.
- Prepare regular fleet management reports for management.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance transport and fleet operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 2 to 3 years of experience in fleet and transport management
- Experience supervising drivers and heavy equipment operators
- Experience managing vehicles, heavy machinery, and equipment
- Knowledge of maintenance coordination, fleet operations, transport planning, fuel management, and vehicle tracking
- Experience in heavy machinery hiring is an added advantage
- Strong organisational, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills
