Vipawa Works Inc. Limited is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer to support the Mtwara Coal Terminal Project. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Support installation, quality control, testing, and commissioning of electrical, pump house, water supply, drainage, and PLC automation systems.

Interpret mechanical, piping, electrical, and control drawings.

Conduct incoming equipment inspections and prepare engineering documentation.

Prepare bilingual technical documents for submission to the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA).

Develop equipment maintenance plans and manage maintenance activities.

Monitor the operation of pumps, generators, power distribution systems, and field instruments.

Implement HSE procedures including PTW, JSA, and LOTO systems.

Supervise local technicians and provide technical training.

Coordinate project activities with supervisors, equipment manufacturers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

OSHA Safety Certificate is an added advantage.

Minimum two (2) years of experience in electromechanical installation for ports, oil & gas projects, pump stations, or similar industrial facilities.

Strong knowledge of high and low voltage power distribution, pump systems, instrumentation, and PLC automation.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Familiarity with RFI, CMMS, and engineering submission procedures.

Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.

Previous experience on Chinese-funded infrastructure projects, Chinese language skills, and a valid driving licence are added advantages.
