Accountant Officer

Goodwill Ceramic Limited is seeking an experienced Accountant Officer to join its team in Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting transactions, preparing financial statements and budget forecasts, reconciling accounts, handling financial closings, processing taxes and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and record all accounting transactions.
• Prepare budget forecasts.
• Prepare and publish financial statements on time.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure bank payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
• Review and audit financial transactions and supporting documents.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of financial information.
• Conduct database backups when necessary.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting procedures and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting or a related field.
• More than 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Previous professional experience working as an Accountant.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
• Hands-on experience using accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Experience working with general ledger functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• CPA or CMA certification is an added advantage.
• Ability to comply with company policies, procedures and regulations.
