Manager in Training (MIT) – Agronomy

Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is looking for a young, dynamic, and result-oriented graduate to fill the position of Manager in Training (MIT) in the Estate Agriculture Department in Morogoro. The candidate will be developed through a structured in-house training programme in agricultural competencies, functional expertise, and management skills, with a chance of permanent engagement on successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the structured MIT Development Programme, from graduate to manager in the Estate Agriculture Department.
• Learn about the sugar industry and Kilombero Sugar Company operations.
• Develop technical proficiency in agronomy, business acumen, and leadership skills.
• Gain practical exposure to sugarcane nursery management, crop establishment, crop nutrition, and crop protection.
• Establish and manage agronomic trials and analyse field data.
• Take part in developmental reviews and measure individual progress against defined outcomes.
• Contribute fresh, innovative ideas for continuous improvement in the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in an agricultural field, with emphasis on agronomy and crop production.
• Basic knowledge of nursery management and crop establishment.
• Basic knowledge of crop nutrition and crop protection.
• Knowledge of establishing and managing agronomic trials.
• Basic computer literacy and data analysis skills.
• Good business acumen with the ability to anticipate, interpret, and respond to changes in the functional area.
