Documentation Officer – Clearing and Forwarding

Port Anchor Logistics is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Documentation Officer to manage shipping documentation, coordinate clearing and forwarding operations, ensure customs compliance, and facilitate the efficient movement of cargo in Dar es Salaam.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and process shipping, customs clearance, and regulatory documentation accurately
• Liaise with customs authorities, port officials, shipping lines, and transport providers to facilitate smooth cargo clearance
• Track cargo movements and monitor clearance progress
• Resolve pending clearance requirements and duty issues proactively
• Ensure compliance with national customs regulations, trade laws, and company operating procedures
• Maintain accurate physical and digital shipment records
• Provide regular shipment status updates and operational reports to clients and management

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures, port operations, and shipping documentation
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
