We are seeking for a qualified and experienced Inventory Specialist to join its team at New Luika Gold Mine.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective inventory levels, ensuring critical materials are available when required, controlling excess and obsolete stock, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting operational departments with their material requirements.
The role also involves inventory reporting, stock reconciliation, ERP data management, and supervision and development of inventory personnel.
Responsibilities

Manage inventory levels and replenishment requirements.

Maintain adequate availability of critical, insurance, and fast-moving materials.

Monitor re-order requirements while minimizing excess and redundant inventory.

Plan and coordinate stock counts.

Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
-
Process approved inventory adjustments.
-
Manage Vendor Managed Inventory reconciliations and related purchase requisitions.

Maintain accurate inventory master data and stock classifications in Syspro.

Review requests for introducing new stock items.

Monitor historical stock movements and consumption patterns.

Identify and manage obsolete, redundant, and excess inventory.

Coordinate with Heads of Department and end users on Materials Requirements Planning (MRP).

Monitor stock requirements resulting from equipment and operational changes.

Participate in Underground and Process Plant production meetings to address inventory requirements.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

Provide inventory analysis to support operational and stock-management decisions.

Supervise and manage inventory personnel.

Train and develop inventory team members.
-
Ensure available manpower is effectively utilized.

Ensure inventory activities comply with company safety, health, environmental, asset-protection, and operational requirements.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement & Supplies, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar inventory management or inventory-control role.

Experience in the mining or construction industry is an added advantage.

Good understanding of stores management and inventory-control processes.

Knowledge of procurement and related financial processes.

Sound understanding of material movement systems.

Experience working with inventory-management or ERP systems.

Experience with Syspro or a similar ERP system is an added advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong data-analysis and reporting skills.
