Official job description

Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) is looking for an Engineer II (Signal & Telecommunication) to support the maintenance and installation of signal and telecommunication equipment and systems for both Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and Meter Gauge Railway (MGR). The role also involves preparing technical plans, designs, procurement specifications, and periodic technical reports.

Responsibilities

Assist in the maintenance of signal and telecommunication equipment and systems.
Assist in the installation of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) signalling systems.
Support the installation of telecommunication networks and equipment.
Assist in preparing specifications for the procurement of signal and telecommunication equipment and devices.
Prepare technical plans and designs for signal and telecommunication projects.
Prepare and submit periodic technical reports.
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution.
An equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field from a recognized institution may also be considered.
Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.
