Instructor II (Mechanical Engineer)

Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) is looking for an Instructor II (Mechanical Engineer) to conduct courses and seminars, prepare lesson plans, supervise practical training, evaluate trainees, and support research and development of training programmes. The role focuses on delivering effective technical instruction and ensuring training content meets the Corporation’s operational and professional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct short courses and seminars in relevant areas of specialization, including the Instructional Methods Course (Pedagogical).
• Prepare course plans and lesson plans for relevant subjects.
• Supervise students during practical training.
• Conduct follow-ups and prepare post-training evaluations of trainees.
• Plan and organize traffic programmes.
• Conduct courses and seminars for senior staff of the Corporation.
• Collect and analyze information and data related to relevant fields of specialization.
• Review training objectives and course content.
• Recommend required training equipment and materials to the Principal.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of instructors under supervision and prepare appropriate reports.
• Conduct research on instructional needs within and outside TRC.
• Conduct consultations and research on training matters in collaboration with district and headquarters officers.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree at NTA Level 8 or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 from a recognized institution.
• Must be eligible for registration as a technical teacher.
• Must be registered with the relevant professional board as a Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer.
