Tutor in Computing and Information Technology (CIT) – 2 Positions

United African Technical College (UATC) is seeking two qualified Tutors in Computing and Information Technology (CIT) to join its Science and Technology Faculty in Vijibweni, Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidates will teach Computing and Information Technology, Business Information Technology and related subjects up to NTA Level 6.

The role combines classroom teaching, practical skills development, student mentoring, academic guidance and participation in college activities. UATC provides technical education within a Christian values-based learning environment, with emphasis on developing students academically, professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

• Teach modules up to NTA Level 6 in Computing and Information Technology.
• Teach Business Information Technology and other related subjects.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality, student-centered lessons.
• Apply modern teaching methods and practical examples during instruction.
• Guide students in ICT-related assignments, projects and fieldwork.
• Support students in developing practical technical skills.
• Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving among students.
• Provide academic and professional guidance to students.
• Mentor students in their intellectual, emotional, spiritual and character development.
• Work closely with the Head of Department.
• Support and organize student extracurricular activities.
• Participate in student clubs and community-service initiatives.
• Support industry networking activities and events.
• Contribute to the development of new short courses and advanced learning opportunities.
• Ensure academic activities align with NACTVET standards and regulations.
• Participate in continuous professional development.
• Participate in research and knowledge-sharing activities related to Computing and Information Technology.
• Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor or college administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computing and Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum university GPA of 3.5.
• Valid Teacher Training License or Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of Computing and Information Technology.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong passion for teaching and mentoring students.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• 2 or more years of teaching experience in a NACTVET-recognized academic institution is an added advantage.
