We are seeking a Treasury Officer to manage treasury operations, including daily cash positions, liquidity management, banking relationships, foreign exchange and money market transactions, fixed deposits, lender relationships, and regulatory reporting. The role will also support account reconciliations, loan administration, financial reporting, and compliance with central bank requirements.
Responsibilities

Monitor daily cash positions and prepare liquidity reports using central bank templates.

Manage bank accounts and maintain effective banking relationships.

Monitor liquidity positions and funding requirements.

Manage placement and maturity of fixed deposits.
-
Support branch-level cash availability and internal fund transfers.

Ensure proper controls over cash holdings and transfers.
-
Book, validate, track, and settle foreign exchange and money market transactions accurately.

Coordinate and negotiate FX transactions to obtain competitive market rates.
-
Monitor FX and fixed-deposit market rates and maintain daily transaction records.
-
Maintain comprehensive records of treasury transactions.
-
Prepare and submit statutory treasury reports in accordance with central bank requirements.

Ensure compliance with internal treasury and risk policies.
-
Reconcile treasury-related general ledger accounts, fixed deposits, investment accounts, interest income, and loan interest accruals.

Work with Finance and Reconciliation teams to investigate and clear outstanding items.

Maintain strong relationships with existing lenders.
-
Monitor and ensure compliance with loan covenants.
-
Identify and establish relationships with potential lenders and funders.
-
Coordinate lender due-diligence processes and provide required financial information.

Maintain documentation relating to lenders and loans.
-
Ensure loans are properly registered in accordance with central bank requirements.

Prepare monthly foreign-debt reports required by the Central Bank.

Ensure compliance with applicable tax requirements relating to foreign debt.
-
Prepare financial and compliance reports required by lenders.
-
Maintain loan repayment schedules and ensure sufficient funds are available for repayments.

Support compliance with grant terms, conditions, and reporting requirements.

Support accurate month-end financial closing and reporting.
-
Provide treasury-related documentation and support during audits.
-
Process staff account opening, account updates, and staff loans.
-
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
-
Finance or accounting background.
-
Understanding of the banking and/or microfinance industry.
-
Knowledge of treasury and liquidity-management operations.
-
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
-
Basic understanding of IFRS.
-
Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end financial closing.

Understanding of financial statements.
-
Knowledge of local regulatory requirements, particularly foreign-debt requirements.

Experience using accounting software.

Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
