Senior Business Analyst

AXIAN Digibank & Fintech is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst (Tanzania requisition; the role is also open in Antananarivo, Lomé, Dakar and Dubai) to lead strategic, financial and regulatory analysis for post-merger projects, licensing applications and M&A due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Support post-merger projects: assess the target company, identify gaps, and map out how to integrate it.
• Prepare licensing applications and write regulatory papers for countries such as Comoros, Madagascar, Algeria, Togo, and Tanzania, working closely with the legal team.
• Build financial models and business plans, run financial projections, and check capital ratios and risk scenarios.
• Write strategic background reports, including impact studies and recommendations, for finalization and submission by the PMO.
• Conduct M&A due diligence, checking deals from commercial, financial, and regulatory angles.
• Study entity structuring options such as subsidiaries or spin-offs, and check the rules after obtaining a license.
• Perform quality control: check sources, keep data accurate, and document all assumptions clearly.

Requirements

• Advanced degree from a business school, engineering school, or equivalent university program.
• Proven experience (8 years or more) in strategic, financial, or regulatory analysis.
• Strong analytical skills: ability to break down complex problems, quantitative reasoning, and the ability to synthesize information.
• Excellent proficiency in Excel for financial modelling (business plans, projections, prudential ratios, sensitivity analyses) and very strong proficiency in PowerPoint.
• Good understanding of regulated environments (banking, fintech, mobile money, financial services) and licensing processes.
