Equity Bank Tanzania is seeking an experienced Strategy Execution, Governance & Portfolio Visibility Manager to provide enterprise-wide visibility and governance over the Bank's strategic initiatives and transformation programmes.
The role will translate strategic priorities into structured, measurable and trackable initiatives while coordinating portfolio governance, performance monitoring, executive reporting and cross-functional accountability. The successful candidate will help ensure strategic priorities, Board commitments, Managing Director directives and Balanced Scorecard objectives are delivered effectively and on time.
Responsibilities

Coordinate enterprise transformation and strategic initiatives across the Bank.

Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined initiatives with owners, milestones, deliverables and measurable targets.

Manage the formal registration and scoping of initiatives before inclusion in the enterprise portfolio.

Maintain a consolidated portfolio view of strategic and transformation initiatives.
-
Ensure initiatives remain aligned with the Bank's strategic objectives and expected outcomes.

Support prioritisation and sequencing of initiatives based on strategic importance, dependencies and institutional exposure.

Align initiative performance tracking with the Bank's Balanced Scorecard.

Prepare structured strategic execution reports for the Board, EXCO, ManCo, SteerCo and senior leadership.

Maintain Red/Amber/Green (RAG) reporting to provide visibility into initiative performance and delivery health.

Coordinate and quality-check executive and committee reporting packs.

Prepare Strategic Execution Health Reports for the Managing Director.

Maintain the Board, Managing Director and EXCO Directive Execution Log and track commitments through completion.

Maintain decision registers covering key approvals, assumptions, dependencies and management actions.

Maintain risk, issue and dependency logs across strategic initiatives.

Escalate material governance and delivery risks through appropriate governance channels.
-
Establish and maintain appropriate portfolio governance and reporting schedules.
-
Manage formal change-control processes for active portfolio initiatives.
-
Identify and map dependencies between initiatives and highlight potential sequencing conflicts.
-
Maintain visibility over resource and capacity conflicts across the initiative portfolio.
-
Coordinate formal close-out procedures for completed initiatives.
-
Maintain stakeholder maps and monitor stakeholder influence and engagement.
-
Enforce portfolio and execution governance through programme-management platforms such as Monday.com or equivalent.

Apply Business Excellence principles consistently across governance and execution activities.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Strategy, Engineering, Project Management, Management Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.

At least 4 years of experience in governance, PMO, strategy execution, transformation governance or management consulting.

Experience working within a bank, financial institution or another large regulated organization.

Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes.

Strong knowledge of enterprise portfolio governance and strategy execution.

Experience coordinating complex cross-functional programmes and initiatives.

Strong understanding of risk, issue, dependency, change and decision governance.

Experience producing executive-level reports for senior management, EXCO or Board-related forums.

Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities among senior and executive stakeholders.

Strong critical-thinking, facilitation and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to convert complex programme information into clear executive-level insights.

Demonstrable proficiency with programme-management platforms such as Monday.com, Asana or equivalent.
