FINCA Microfinance Bank Tanzania is seeking a motivated Legal Intern to support the Legal Department in managing legal matters, reducing litigation risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in litigation, legal research, court procedures, legal documentation, and banking legal operations.
Key Responsibilities

Attend court sessions and file legal pleadings.

Draft pleadings for credit-related legal cases.

Maintain accurate records of court proceedings and legal cases.

Conduct legal research on assigned matters.

Follow up with courts, tribunals, and other legal authorities.

Prepare legal opinions and provide legal support where required.

Draft mortgage and collateral-related legal documents.
-
Maintain case registers and collateral registration records.
-
Liaise with police and external legal counsel on fraud and criminal matters.

Monitor ongoing legal and criminal cases.

Perform other legal duties assigned by the Legal Department.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB).

Legal practice experience is required.

Comfortable working in courts and legal institutions.

Strong legal research and drafting skills.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work comfortably for up to 8 hours per day.
