The Institute of Finance Management (IFM), a public higher learning institution, is seeking an Accounts Officer II to support its accounting operations, including receiving and paying cash, posting and balancing ledgers, issuing invoices and following up payments, preparing trial balances, and checking claims and retirements. There is 1 post in Dar es Salaam. The position is a one-year renewable contract on salary scale PGSS 6.
Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving and paying cash
- Post and balance ledger accounts
- Issue invoices and follow up on payment of bills
- Assist in maintaining complete and accurate account records
- Prepare trial balances
- Assist in checking claims and retirements and ensuring supporting documents are attached
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration/Commerce majoring in Accountancy or Finance, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution; or Intermediate Certificate (Module D) offered by NBAA
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV National Examination Certificate)
- Computer certificate
- Tanzanian citizen not above 45 years of age
