The Institute of Finance Management (IFM), a public higher learning institution, is seeking a Driver II for its Simiyu Campus to drive institutional vehicles safely to approved destinations, keep vehicles clean and in good condition, maintain vehicle movement records, and perform messenger duties. There is 1 post at Simiyu Campus. The position is a one-year renewable contract on salary scale PGSS 2.
Responsibilities
- Drive institutional vehicles to approved destinations in accordance with traffic regulations
- Ensure the safety of vehicles and entrusted tools
- Maintain vehicle and tool cleanliness
- Promptly report vehicle defects or problems
- Perform messenger duties including dispatching documents, collecting mail, and photocopying documents
- Keep records of vehicle movements
- Diagnose minor problems requiring immediate repair
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Superior
Requirements
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (Form VI)
- Valid Class C or E driving licence
- Basic Driving Course certificate
- At least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident
- Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanics is an added advantage
- Tanzanian citizen not above 45 years of age
- Safe driving and knowledge of traffic regulations
- Basic vehicle maintenance and diagnostics
- Vehicle record keeping
- Messenger and document-handling skills
