Accounts Payable Officer

Perseus Mining Limited is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to support its Accounts Payable function and office administration activities in Dar es Salaam.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing supplier invoices and payments, maintaining supplier records, performing reconciliations, managing financial documentation, supporting internal controls and audits, and ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments through company financial systems.
• Verify invoice details and supporting documents before processing payments.
• Maintain accurate vendor and supplier records.
• Perform supplier reconciliations and monitor Accounts Payable ageing.
• Manage accruals and maintain accurate financial records.
• Maintain supplier master data and ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
• Support procure-to-pay processes and related financial activities.
• Maintain proper financial documentation and filing systems.
• Support office administration activities, including logistics, document management, office supplies, and visitor support.
• Assist with internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve Accounts Payable processes.
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits by providing required documentation.
• Perform other finance and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and financial controls.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Experience using computerized accounting and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
