Vipawa Works Inc. Limited is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to operate excavator equipment in support of construction and project activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for digging, excavation, material handling and other earthmoving activities while ensuring the equipment is operated safely and efficiently. The role also involves daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities

Operate excavator equipment safely and efficiently.

Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections before operating the equipment.

Report equipment faults or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Dig trenches and excavate soil and other materials as required by project operations.

Move materials, debris and other objects using the excavator.

Perform excavation work accurately to avoid damaging underground utilities and nearby structures.

Follow project plans, drawings, specifications and instructions when carrying out excavation work.

Coordinate with other workers on site to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Communicate excavation progress and operational issues to supervisors and project managers.

Follow company safety policies, procedures and equipment-operating guidelines.

Assist with basic preventive maintenance of the excavator.

Operate other heavy equipment when required, including dozers, skid loaders and loaders.
Requirements

High school education or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience operating excavators.

Ability to safely operate and control heavy equipment.

Ability to follow workplace and equipment safety procedures.

Basic understanding of excavator inspection and preventive maintenance.

Ability to work accurately around underground utilities and structures.

Ability to understand project instructions, plans and specifications.

Experience operating other heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers or skid loaders is an advantage.

Knowledge of agricultural operations is an added advantage.

Diploma-level education may be preferred based on the employer's stated education criteria.
