Vipawa Works Inc. Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and overhauls of mechanical equipment and project assets.
The role involves working with diesel and petrol-powered equipment, including tractors, loaders, cranes, forklifts, generators, compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems and other industrial or construction machinery.
Responsibilities

Carry out planned and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery.

Diagnose mechanical faults and perform troubleshooting and repairs.

Maintain compressors, generators, diesel engines, pumps and hydraulic systems.

Perform maintenance on rotating and static equipment.

Support Mechanical Integrity activities and preventive maintenance programmes.

Repair and overhaul pumps and related mechanical components.

Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel and petrol equipment.

Support engine overhauls, transmission repairs and hydraulic-system maintenance.

Identify critical mechanical equipment and required spare parts.

Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records and service histories.

Assist the Maintenance Lead in maintaining equipment manuals and technical documentation.

Monitor equipment condition and help improve equipment reliability and availability.

Maintain good housekeeping around machinery, workshops and maintenance areas.

Ensure maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable safety procedures.
Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Diesel Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment, construction equipment, mining equipment, port equipment or industrial machinery.

Proven experience with engine overhauls and mechanical diagnostics.

Experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems.

Experience with transmission repairs.

Knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify faults.

Understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability practices.

Certifications in diesel engine systems, automatic transmissions, hydraulics or heavy-equipment maintenance are an added advantage.
