Forensic Analyst

The Forensic Analyst will analyze financial and operational data to identify fraud, irregularities, control weaknesses, and emerging risks, while supporting investigations and strengthening fraud prevention at Bayport Financial Services’ Head Office in Dar es Salaam.

Responsibilities

• Identify and escalate suspicious activities and anomalies in a timely manner
• Conduct accurate analytical reviews of credit, sales, and operational data
• Support and document forensic investigations with clear findings and evidence
• Prepare monthly and quarterly forensic reports within agreed timelines
• Recommend practical measures to strengthen controls and reduce fraud exposure
• Collaborate with business units to resolve identified issues
• Improve the use of analytics and forensic tools for proactive fraud detection

Requirements

• Financial and operational data analysis
• Fraud detection and prevention
• Data extraction, cleansing, and analysis
• Forensic investigation support
• Analytical report preparation
• Knowledge of banking or microfinance operations
• Proficiency with data analysis or investigation tools such as ACL, IDEA, SQL, i2 Analyst’s Notebook, or iBase
