Credit Risk Manager

Equity Bank Tanzania Ltd is seeking a Credit Risk Manager to oversee credit risk exposure, assess and monitor credit facilities, manage delinquency and remediation, conduct stress testing, and provide credit risk reporting and advisory support to management and the Board.

Responsibilities

• Identify, measure, and report significant credit risks, losses, and the effectiveness of mitigation actions
• Monitor compliance with credit policies and recommend corrective measures
• Appraise credit facilities across Personal, Business, and Corporate Banking segments
• Ensure data integrity and maintain high-quality credit documentation
• Review the creditworthiness and risks associated with potential transactions
• Apply credit assessment tools and models and propose risk mitigation measures
• Analyse delinquent accounts and prepare credit risk reports
• Support remediation strategies, negotiations, recovery actions, and legal coordination
• Conduct portfolio reviews to identify causes of delinquency and recommend resolutions
• Act as custodian of security vaults and credit documentation
• Oversee the archiving and retrieval of credit documents and maintain security document registers
• Ensure collateral protection through timely insurance renewals
• Conduct stress tests and portfolio impact assessments
• Provide credit risk policy guidance and prepare reports for senior management and the Board
• Ensure accurate collection of fees, commissions, and other charges
• Collaborate with credit and recovery units to address problem accounts
• Represent the branch in internal and external meetings
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
