The Institute of Finance Management (IFM), a public higher learning institution, is seeking qualified Artisans II (Cooling & Ventilation / Air Conditioning) to repair, maintain, troubleshoot and install air-conditioning, heating, ventilation and related mechanical systems. There are 3 posts, all in Dar es Salaam. The position is a one-year renewable contract on salary scale PGSS 2.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain washers, dryers, and small appliances
- Repair and maintain air-conditioning units
- Inspect and troubleshoot air-conditioning faults
- Ensure proper functioning and efficiency of air-conditioning systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems
- Install mechanical systems including piping and modifications to existing cooling systems
- Monitor outside contractors for adherence to code requirements and report to the Supervisor
Requirements
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV National Examination Certificate)
- Trade Test II or Level II in Cooling & Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
- Computer certificate
- Tanzanian citizen not above 45 years of age
- Air-conditioning repair and maintenance
- Cooling and ventilation systems knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning faults
- Mechanical piping and installation skills
- Ability to monitor contractors and assess code compliance
